
Mary Donnelly - Clinical Psychologist
Mary is the founder and Clinical Director of Rewild Therapy. She is registered as a Chartered Psychologist of the Psychological Society of Ireland (membership number M10544C). Mary has worked for over 20 years in her role as a Clinical Psychologist with children, teenagers, families and adults.
Mary qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from Rhodes University, South Africa in 2003. She worked in a range of South African public and private mental health services, with children, adults, and families. Mary co-founded the Psychological Care Centre in 2007, where she worked for twelve years with children, teenagers, adults and families, before moving to Ireland in 2019.
Mary received full validation of her Clinical Psychologist qualification by the Irish Department of Health Validation Unit in 2019. She joined Horizons (formerly Cope Foundation) in 2020 and worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in their autism service, which became a Children’s Disability Network Team in 2021. Mary gained specialised experience during five years in the CDNT services, with Horizons and Corlann (formerly Brothers of Charity), working in interdisciplinary teams supporting children and teenagers with complex needs associated with a range of neurodevelopmental differences and difficulties.
Mary has a deep interest in working with children and teenagers presenting with autistic experience. She is dedicated to the neuroaffirmative approach to understanding neurodivergence, which she brings to her autism identification (assessment) and intervention work. Mary is proud to be autistic herself and is a deeply compassionate person who brings her personal understanding and a sense of joy to her work with neurodivergent young people and their families.
